Have had to é o verbo have to (ter que), que expressa obrigação e necessidade de fazer alguma coisa, conjugado no presente perfeito (present perfect). Have had to é utilizado no presente perfeito para indicar que se teve que fazer alguma coisa no passado recente que impacta no presente. Have had to significa “tive que”. Por exemplo: I’ve had to study. / Tive que estudar.

Estrutura de have had to
Have had to forma-se com os auxiliares have/has seguido de had (past participle do verbo principal have). A estrutura é:
Sujeito + have / has + had to + verbo infinitivo. Have é o auxiliar para os pronomes I, you, we, they.
Has é o auxiliar para os pronomes he, she, it.
Por exemplo:
- They have had to change schools after they moved. / Tiveram que mudar de escola depois que se mudaram.
- He has had to tell the truth. / Ele teve que dizer a verdade.
- I have had to buy a new computer. / Eu tive que comprar um computador novo.
Have pode ser abreviado: ‘ve. Por exemplo: We’ve had to reduce costs.
Has pode ser abreviado: ‘s. Por exemplo: She’s had to call friends for help.
Forma negativa
O negativo de have had to é haven’t had to e o negativo de has had to é hasn’t had to. Por exemplo:
- I haven’t had to decide yet. / Eu ainda não tive que decidir.
- Mary hasn’t had to call for help. / Mary não precisou pedir ajuda.
Forma interrogativa
As perguntas com have / has had to são formadas colocando o auxiliar na frente do sujeito. Por exemplo:
