Las palabras más usadas en inglés

En inglés existen las content words, es decir, palabras, que contienen la mayor parte del mensaje de la oración y pueden ser sustantivos, adjetivos, verbos y adverbios. Por ejemplo: person (persona), gentle (amable), live (vivir), quickly (rápidamente).

También existen las grammar words, “palabras gramaticales”, cuya función principal es dar orden y coherencia al mensaje de la oración, y pueden ser pronombres, preposiciones y determinantes. Por ejemplo: they (ellos), under (debajo), those (aquellos).

Aunque la mayor parte del contenido de la comunicación está dado por las content words, ambos grupos de palabras son necesarios para la formación de la oración y la transmisión del mensaje en inglés.
