Oraciones en «past continuous»

El past continuous es un tiempo verbal en inglés que se utiliza para expresar una acción en progreso en el pasado. Por ejemplo: I was studying all night. / Estuve estudiando toda la noche.

El past continuous expresa acciones en progreso que fueron interrumpidas (o no) o acciones que transcurrieron simultáneamente con otra acción. También sirve para describir un contexto pasado o “marco” para otra situación pasada. Por ejemplo: The wind was blowing. / El viento soplaba.

Mientras que el past simple trata las acciones pasadas como hechos puntuales, el past continuous les da tiempo y duración.
